Walking in Leicestershire parks - more locations announced on our calendars

Billa Barra Hill

This 20 hectare local nature reserve, located in the north of the borough of Hinckley and Bosworth, consists of a variety of habitats including acid grassland, which is ecologically significant at a local level. Additionally, there are a number of rocky outcrops of Markfieldite, making the hill a regionally important geological site, perfect for our walks.

Martinshaw woods

Set across 103 hectares (254 acres), Martinshaw Wood is a vast and picturesque woodland, steeped in history. Situated in the National Forest, the wood also features a diverse range of habitats and wildlife. With links to nearby woods and an extensive path network.

Knighton Park

Popular park featuring leafy paths, open fields and plenty of distractions  - plus oppawtunity to have a paddle in the little brook!

Beacon Hill

Beacon Hill, near Loughborough, is a popular country park. It is one of several beacon hills in the United Kingdom. We have various routes to take at this location!

Thornton Reservoir

Usually used for our mid-week walks, Thornton Reservoir is a peaceful and picturesque location that offers a network of trails and footpaths around the reservoir and through the neighbouring woodland areas.

Barden Hill

We are kindly allowed to park up at a local Pub, and we venture off through woodland and fields alongside the Barden Hill quarry, this walk also involves walking alongside a busy main road.

Ratby - Comet trail

A stretch of disused railway line runs between Ratby and Glenfield. Though the original line is broken by an industrial estate a connecting path joins up the two parts. For most of its length it runs parallel with the Rothley Brook (Paddle time!) and the section that flows under the motorway is included in this site.

Woodhouse Eaves village hall

This is currently used for our First aid events

Outwoods

The Outwoods is a 40 hectares ancient wood and visitor attraction overlooking Loughborough and the Soar Valley in Leicestershire.

Uplands Park -
Located in Oadby, Uplands Park covers an area of 16.9 acres. This park is suitable for our dog walking.
